If I’m being totally honest (which I am), Alita: Battle Angel was a surprise. I remember seeing the promos and trailers in theaters and thinking to myself, “Man, this looks dumb, I hope I don’t have to see it.” And the promos were stupid; I blame their marketing team. But the movie was good. Trailers don’t make the movie.

The show is about Alita, a cyborg. She’s found in a junkyard by Ido (Christoph Waltz), then he gives her a body. They soon start to realize that she has an extraordinary past. The critic score on Rotten Tomatoes is 60%, whereas the audience score is 93%. So, assuming you aren’t a movie critic, you’ll like Alita: Battle Angel.

My consensus is that this is a good movie. Sure, it’s not Oscar-worthy, but it is worth seeing. There are some cheesy parts in it (like any other movie), but I felt like the movie was well paced and the story well told. The show ends on a cliffhanger, by the way, so stay tuned for a second one.
