The mountain Crest Swim team is nearing its final competition, and it has certainly been a successful season. With every meet comes highs and lows, and the most recent meet was certainly no exception. Last Saturday, all of the teams from the Valley competed at Utah State. Being the first meet after Christmas break, it is always hard to bounce back into things. Nevertheless, there were still several personal records from MC (see list below). With two dual meets and an invitational, along with Region and State on the horizon, there is still much to look forward to in the season. There are high hopes for both the boys’ and girls’ teams as the boys hope to defend the Region title, and the girls take on the competition with more depth than past seasons.

Personal records during the All Valley Invite for the girls team included Reagan Watrin in the 100 back, Ivy Warde in the 50 free and 100 back, Allee Stakebake in the 100 back and 100 breast, Janine Schroeder in the 50 free and 100 back, Sidney Nielson in the 50 free, Calyssa Kunzler in the 100 free, Alexis Johnson in the 100 free, Addison Jensen in the 100 free and 100 back, Chantel Jarrett in the 100 fly, Hannah Isom in the 100 free, Annamariah Garbe in the 50 free and 100 back, Abigail Edwards in the 50 free, and Kate Daines in the 50 free. The girls also achieved a best time for the 4×100 relay (4:11.55)

On the boys’ side, there were personal records from Jake Black in the 200 I.M., Kolin Christiansen in the 100 back, Ben Edlund in the 50 free, Koy Gittins in the 50 free and 100 breast, Jaron Lerohl in the 100 free, Jaden Norman in the 50 free and 100 free, Pedro Pinto in the 100 back, Zach Roundy in the 200 I.M. and 100 back, Ethan Stapley in the 200 I.M. and 100 fly, and Kaiden Stapley in the 100 back.
