This Thursday, Mountain Crest High School was matched up against Box Elder High School. The junior varsity team played first and, as a team, we suffered a loss. Then at seven, the varsity team played and we won 42-28. At one point the score was 0-18 for Box Elder, but Mountain Crest turned it around and we went on a 30-0 run.

For the varsity team, we won. We came back from a 0-18 deficit. I had the opportunity to interview Hunter Evans. I asked him about the team effort and he said, “The team effort was good! On the wrestling team we give it our all and learn and correct our mistakes every duel we have.” I then asked him what the wrestling team could improve on and he responded, saying, “Something I think everyone can improve on is getting to know everyone. This will help us become closer as a team this year and make us the best we can be!” Finally, I asked him how they prepared for the match and he stated, “We’ve spent hours in the morning and after school with our conditioning (wrestling, running, and lifting). Along with that, going over our moves and really focusing on our technique. By doing this we can go out on the mat mentally and physically ready to dominate!”

This is a fantastic wrestling team. You should go to all of their games. Go Mountain Crest High School!
