It is that time of year, and the Ballerinas at Cache Valley Civic ballet have been preparing for a very long time. A tradition for many families in Cache valley, The Nutcracker is just the start to our Christmas celebrations. Sandy Emile, the brilliant Artistic Director, has been training her companies for this exact moment. The Nutcracker begins with a performance by several younger dancers who have been training to be cast as Party Girls. This year, Clara will be performed by Sofie Baldwin and the Nut Prince will be Isaac Anderson. These dancers have been training exclusively with Sandra Emile. Their talent will shine through the stage and bring happiness to every audience member. Each member of this ballet is majorly excited for this performance. Ava Checketts, a member of Cache Valley Civic Ballet’s Junior company, says, “The Nutcracker is not just a ballet; it is a performance of a lifetime.” Ava will be dancing during Act 1 and will be a part of the Waltz of the Flowers ensemble. The magic that is felt in The Eccles Theater is like nothing else. The Nutcracker is amazing for dancers and audience members alike.
