There has always been a successful history for the Mountain Crest football team throughout the years, and this year will undoubtedly be no exception. As the season is now underway, the MC boys are giving their all on the field, determined to make a statement. There has already been some highs and lows of the season, as their opener game at Salem Hills resulted in a 32-10 victory, and then the Mustangs fell to Wasatch on the second game last Friday. It was a hard game to finish watching, but having experienced loss early in the season could be beneficial. Last year, the Mustangs were incredibly successful. They won almost every game, and many of us had the opportunity to cheer on the Stangs during the Championship. Everyone was excited and pumped for the game, knowing that the boys worked so hard to get to that point. Every year we lose some talented seniors. This year is no different, however it is clear that MC football has a lot of that same traction from last year. They have the potential to get very far. Everyone is constantly improving. Injuries heal, and the players are becoming closer as a team.

No matter the outcome of the games, you will find more passion and heart out on the Mountain Crest field than anywhere. I had the opportunity to talk to coach Lee about the ongoing season. “We’ve got strengths this year,  such as our linemen–some of them have been here for three years–and our quarterback has been here for three years, and we have a lot of talent in our players…My favorite thing about coaching is watching the kids do things that they didn’t think they could do.” The future is bright, and the Mustangs are prepared to leave everything on the field this season.
